Overview The UB Group is an Indian company with many branches and businesses, including a large volume of spirits and even Kingfisher Airlines—the only airline-beer conglomerate we know of. Perplexingly, Kingfisher also owns the California craft brewery Mendocino. This beer and Taj Mahal are the two most commonly found beers at Indian restaurants outside India.

Flavors and aromas Floral hops and English pale malt character give this a clean, nice nose. There’s low carbonation, and mild bitterness, giving the palate some heft to it, but there’s hop character that gives some brighter notes, and the finish is dry, with woodier hops. We’d like to see a bit more bitterness and hop character, but this is a decent enough lager.
