Overview Ask any wine critic, and they’ll agree: vanilla is a tough flavor ingredient to use in alcoholic beverages. The high intensity and perceived sweetness tend to jump all over other flavors. A light hand is key.

Flavors and aromas There’s some complexity to this beer, but whether it lives up to the “remarkable” moniker is debatable. Diacetyl-butterscotch, chocolate, root beer, and vanilla all come together into a sweet, synthetic scratch-and-sniff aroma. The finish is dry, though, probably assisted by some well-hidden hop bitterness. The overall effect is perplexing enough that it might rise to the level of “remarkable” after all.
