Characteristics Unusual, refreshing

Overview Bud Light Lime, which features “natural lime flavor,” quickly became a hot seller after its inception in 2008, with an industry exec calling it “the atomic bomb in the marketplace.” It’s not hard to see why—like Yellowtail in the wine world, this beer plays to America’s taste for sweet drinks.

Flavors and aromas This beverage isn’t much like beer. But it is refreshing, in a flavored-club-soda kind of way. It’s also sweet. Our tasters split fairly evenly on whether Bud Light Lime was awful or okay, with the balance coming down on the side of okay. But it does have some strange qualities. Every taster mentioned soap (mostly citrusy, lemony dish soap) in the nose. And nobody loved it. But as alcoholic, candy-flavored club soda goes, this is okay.
