Overview To make sour lambic ales more palatable, they’re frequently mixed with fruits. Sour cherries are the most traditional, but raspberries (framboise, in French) are not uncommon, and cassis, pear, and peach can also be found.
Flavors and aromas We’ll say this about Lindeman’s Framboise: there’s no mistaking it for anything other than a raspberry beer. A nice big pink head and massive raspberry nose leads into a tangy-sweet palate. The tartness is nice and mouthwatering, but the overall effect is cartoonish. This presents more as a raspberry soda than a sour beer employing raspberries to take the edge off. It is, to be fair, a darn tasty raspberry soda.
